Additional notes from Devon Cornwall Boarder
our second vehicle was involved in a road accident just before we were due to leave for home (not there fault.
All involved were unhurt and are safe but alais we had to say Goodbye to our vehicle and see it end its life in a scrap yard down in Cornwall.
We would like to pass a big Thank you to Red Post garage at Red post Junction just a few miles in land of Bude for all there help in trying to mend the broken vehicle and helping in transporting the vehicle away.
DDS highly recommend you..

the rest of our assignment to Devon Cornwall Boarder
On week one we travelled the whole of the west coast line and week two entailed travelling from base to Dartmoor, down every road and track to find some lovely treasures and surprises.
The Dartmoor wild ponies have just had their fouls and the spring lambs are fast growing up.
The Dartmoor cattle does seem to be growing not only in numbers but size this year.
We are hoping to have all the images loaded and ready for sale and view within the next 2 months and will hopefully have a book available at the same time.
our book will be autographed by our photographer and will make a lovely gift or to place on a reading table.
We've had such a great time down in Cornwall and Devon and have really enjoyed travelling around some of our old haunts and finding places we hadn't been too. Some were good and some where just disappointing.
While down here we found a new base to move too but our syndicate did not come up and we'll have to wait a little longer.
We'll be back in the office on Sunday 22 June where all our hard work will start.

Day 2, 3, & 4 Devon Cornwall Boarder Annual Assignment
weather not bad to start, Showers followed by lovely sunny temperatures.
Travelled to Bude to see what is around and also to catch up on emails in the beach car park.
We have found that signal for mobile broadband is a little poor so will be write a few days in one blog for you to keep track of us.
We have found just being in no-mans land that modern technology can not always keep up with us but its lovely to be able to not have phones rings and the messaging service chasing us.
Even if it is a short period, its nice.
Day 3 -
start of the day not bad at all, expected rain but only abit over cast. heavy storms have been predicted, so we have decided to gel up on the locals and the area.
finally found a place to sit and blog from at base, takes a while and is slow but its windproof and you don't get wet.
Spent some time at a Cornish cricket match and hopefully have one or two nice images to post when we get back to the office.
Well disappointed the weather man was wrong we have had lovely weather today.
Day 4 -
Lovely weather again, mainly sunny with a few clouds being blown inland at times.
temperature in double figures (17) so jackets and coats are an optional extra today.
travelled down the western coast road and that's no fun if you don't like heights lucky i don't mind as i was not doing the driving but it could be hair-raising at times and not nice when you meet something coming the other way.
Stopped at Crackington haven for something to eat and spoke to some locals about the area which has been partly rebuilt after the great floods of 2004.
its a very nice place photogenic place but not too good for the disabled person who does not walk up hills well. that's what you get when you live in a valley.
Good news rest of our team will be joining us late evening we hope...
We've seen plenty of wildlife so far and hopefully we will have lots to show you when we get back.
Well bye for now

Credit Crunch
That power, Food and fuel is going up by as much as 50% in the next 12 month and big named business are going broke.
We'd like to say we will still be here when the market turns round.
We have noticed a slight down turn in our market area over the last 6 months and anticipated this way back in 2007, where we started drawing up plan's to ride the credit crunch waves should it happen.
Like everyone else we still need to pay bills, feed our families but have taken the hard Decision to put back alot of our projects that where in the pipeline and move with the present times and market changes.
We are reducing our Ebay shop to minimum amount each month and are concentrating and our websites: DDS Photographics.com & Pixelproductsandservices.org. as well as renewing our database and order systems which was already in play before the last few months.
With the changes worldwide in our economics we must look forward and ride the wave to be there at the end.
We have been lucky that we planned for this and can move with this down turn market.
We hope all our customers are able to ride it with us, good or bad.

April 2008 Updates
- updates to our computer systems are being done but not completed yet, this will not affect any customers or our ordering process. this is just to our internal computer's.
- On Test this month - Sitepal for 30day trial. Seen the adverts and informational sites, raving all about this little gem.
- well personal I didn't see what they are raving about unless they are getting cash from it.
- It made no difference to customers coming into our site, well tell a lie it did annoy you as well as slowed our homepage loading down and boy did some of you let us know that it was hard to navigate with this onboard as well as annoying that it would repeat every time you went back to the home page, even with the setting set for play once only.
- Must admit it was very easy to setup and we had it on the site within 15/25 minutes but find it very hard to get rid off.
- Personal i think you could come up with other ways to state a message to your customers, like placing a mp3 message on your site that would state your designer message without a large icon appearing.
- Just a voice can be just as good...
- if anyone else has tried sitepal why not add your comments we'd love to hear from you.
- Attended lots of meeting this month from Website upgrade discussions to what still needs to be completed. Yes some people are having problems sitting down after being told finish it. no names you know who you are...
- Prep work for Annual photographics trip is well underway so we hope to have lots of images and wildlife to add later.
- Talking about keeping a diary this year to add to the blog so you can all feel part of the trip too. watch this space...
- Cataloging all our stock images, one day might get to the end.
- Adding a new project area in the next few months call wartime as we have found a small stack of original images from Bob Koefoed's time in the second world war from all over the world.
- We are in the process of getting them ready for adding to the site so you will be able to purchase or just look at.

February 2008
Its very cold here at present with -3's and 4 at night but the weatherman tells us we are in for a good spell.
Our projects at present are trying to get our thousands of images into our catalogue and on the website.
We are still trying to add to the backlog of images on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by being out in the field. Basically we get out and about when we are closed, afraid the business never leaves us we just leave the phones and walls behind.
Getting the website uploaded with New Images is estimated to take 3 months so by the time we have our annual two week closure (31st may - 15th june 2008) we should be about ready to start all over again.
Our annual closure project this year is cornwall and devon and our base camp will be in the middle of nowhere yet again.
We have chosen to stay in a late 18th/19th Century farm house with 45 acres to roam in.
this year emails will not be answered until we get back as there is no signal to get anything.
Our Automated System will be taking all your messages and our email serves will keep all your email till we are back. All emails and messages will be responded to in order of received.
Well its time to head back to the backlog until next time

7th December 2007 - Our thanks to all party's involved
We have spent the last week making on going calls with crime sense investigates, Police and several insurance agents and making lists as well as locks etc redone.
It has been such a nightmare but thankfully all party's including our local police and insurances have made it more painless, we could not have asked for a better service from you all.
Legal and general insurance we thank you for your speed at replacing the items we know have gone.
items stolen have to date not been recovered but at least the vehicle was found quickly even if it can not be driven. we will be without this vehicle until Christmas or the new year depending on how quick the parts and car company can get this back to us.
A personal message goes out to the person who stayed with our vehicle once it had been crashed and realized that it was stolen.
It nice to know that there is some people who don't mind getting involved, we thank you again.
Our message to those that have done this, is you will be caught no matter how long this may take us.
Once again we thank you all for your understanding especially at this time of year.
Merry Christmas and here's to a good 2008 to you all.

What a Week we have had - 13th - 21st September 2007
We now use other courier companies to get round this problem since royal mail has been unhelpful.
Then came a complete crash of our system which took some time to sort but all is well again.
Then it was followed by problems with warranties on our new lenses (take a look at the devil within Ebay blog) which has finally been sorted.
and finally we ended the week on a very pleasurable Safari trip and have some stunning images to add to our collection.
We hope you are all enjoying our new Blog site
See you again next time

The Devil inside Ebay watch out
Back in August we needed a quick replacement lens for a special job and for speed chose to use Ebay as a quick fix. We careful chose an item with full Nikon warranty that was brand New.
Little did we know that when the lens went faulty shortly after purchase we would be in broiled in a legal problem. We sent the lens to Nikon and hoped to receive it back shortly with out a problem.
After no sight of it coming back i personal rang there dept that dealt with repairs etc and was shock to found out they will not touch it with out original receipt from dealer.
Promptly asking about the type of receipt accepted they told me that if an item was purchased in an auction or on a auction site like Ebay this would void the warranty.
I was not amused so contacted the seller on Ebay and even spent a long time talking to them on the phone, who promptly said leave it with me i will refund you the cost of new len tonight and i will deal with Nikon to get lens back.
Well that was nearly 3 days ago and no sight of refund or lens. but then while i wait i receive confirmation about Nikon states at present.
You guess it they need the original receipt in 21 days otherwise we will be billed for repairs.
So at present we have sent a valid paypal receipt in a hope that this might change there minds but at present it seems we not only paid the seller on ebay for the privilege of a faulty lens but will have to pay to get the lens back.
The lesson we have learned and hopefully yourselves is don't use ebay to get an item with warranty because should anything go wrong you may find that the protection you thought you had is not worth the paper it was written on unless you have received a VAT receipt separate from the dealer on Ebay.
We have researched this matter and found that not only is Nikon stating a void of warranty on Auction Sites like Ebay but Pentax, Panasonic, Sony, Hoover, you name it the list is too long to mention them all.
My question which is not answered is this just a way for the manufacture to get out of a warranty or is it a valid concern that most consumers do not know that this will happen before they purchase.
We have found on Ebay loads of supplies of equipment and when asked is the warranty valid as it was purchased via Ebay or an auction they all state yes. So do they not know or are we as consumers being conned.
We leave our thoughts with you and can only state BUYER BEWARE. we will keep you informed on any updates
so join us next time
